Greetings from rainy Honduras! We have all-day, Midwest style
rain. We have puddles in the front yard and 3 inches of water in the pharmacy store room. Despite the extra difficulties
this creates for patients traveling, we have been busy enough. Like rain, women have been pouring into Ahuas to
have babies. In August and September, we attended double the usual number of deliveries. Praise God that there
have been no major complications.
Praise God for a new ultrasound machine, purchased from my sister Theresa’s memorial fund.
Praise God that Corixa Zelaya has successfully completed training as a laboratory technician. She received faithful
support from a church in Ohio over many years.
Praise God that Peter and his teacher Kristian are getting along well. That God would lead us and guide us in
continuing to search out and apply best methods for learning. Peter is playing in the newly established Ahuas
Youth Soccer League. Fun!
Norvelle has visited communities upriver. The villages there
continue to have limited access to care. Supplies are often short or non-existent. They enjoy seeing her.
Gerard has traveled to the capital Tegucigalpa and back to help
patients access care. Thank God for a medical visa extended to Annette for travel to the U.S. Thank God for setting
in motion a plan to help Elma, who needs neurosurgery to avoid blindness. Pray that both women would have good
outcomes.
Praise God for Hazel’s new “family” in Tegucigalpa. Our niece enrolled in a new high school in August. Marco
and Gabriela with daughters Danielle and Rebecca are an answer to prayer. For Hazel, they have opened their caring
and Christian home.
We remain grateful for your prayers and support for us and for
church leadership.
